Welcome to the MED's official website.

Greetings:

Remember when Buzz Lightyear landed on Andy’s bed after his lucky acrobatic maneuver.  Rex applauded “Oh wow, you flew magnificently!”  Woody refuted by sayingThat wasn't flying! That was... falling with style!”

Municipal engineers are often asked to soar against gravity to tackle issues such as infrastructure funding gaps, changing regulatory requirements, climate change, staffing resources, etc.  As we multi-task the priorities, the distinction between flying and falling with style may become blurry.  The results may be perceived differently depending on the audience that we serve. As a division of APEGBC, the Executive of MED is continuing to explore ways to build value in MED and to enhance the public profile of municipal engineers.  Although many fine engineering organizations offer valuable resources to our profession, MED will continue provides our service through the municipal lenses. We hope you have found value in attending our past seminars and tours.

I am excited to announce the launch of the new MED website.  Progress on the MED's 2008-2012 Strategic Plan (posted on the website) recognizes the need to improve and simplify our communication with the membership (you).  We recognize that you are busy and your e-mailbox is probably at capacity so we are mindful to keep our messages succinct. Some of the seminar presentations are posted in the web site and we hope to add more.

I encourage you to contact me or other Executive members to tell us what’s important to you.  Give us your insights, ideas and feedback. I hope you will check our website regularly for information and MED events and activities. MED exists to serve you so we can fly together in style.
