What is MED?
The MED is a long standing division of APEGBC which was originally formed in 1943. It is a public service oriented organization of Professional Engineers that promotes and encourages leadership in the delivery of municipal engineering services.
What does MED do?
The MED provides a valuable forum for professional public sector engineers to meet, exchange ideas, debate issues, and to be a catalyst (impetus) for improvement, innovation, sustainability and change in the public sector. Typical programs organized by the MED include:
Technical seminars on municipal engineering and local government issues
Regular newsletters on relevant issues and current events
Development of common standards such as the Master Municipal Construction Documents
The MED allows you to enhance your knowledge, expand your skills, foster networking, and help create a common voice to influence positive change in the public sector.
Who is eligible to join? Both APEGBC members and non-members who have an interest in the municipal engineering field are welcome to join the MED. However, only APEGBC members may vote or hold executive positions.
Benefits of membership Members receive discounts on MED sponsored events as well as spring and fall newsletters.
How to join: Annual membership costs $26.75 (including taxes) and shall be paid to the Municipal Engineers Division c/o APEGBC.
